Single source of truth

A single source of truth is the agreed authoritative record for a particular piece of information. It does not require every tool to be replaced by one application. It means the team knows which record governs the customer status, price, task or decision, and how any copies are kept consistent with that record.

Why it matters for your business

This reduces conflicting instructions and makes handovers easier to verify. The business should be able to trace an update back to its evidence instead of choosing whichever message was seen most recently.

A business example

The CRM owns the enquiry status, while the approved proposal owns the agreed scope. A chat message links to those records rather than becoming a competing version.
