CRM

CRM stands for customer relationship management. It describes the practice, and often the software, used to organise customer details, conversations, opportunities and next actions. A contact list is one part of it. A useful CRM also helps the team understand what has happened, who owns the relationship and what should happen next.

Why it matters for your business

The benefit is continuity. A customer should not have to repeat their story every time a different team member responds, and the founder should not be the only person who knows the status.

A business example

A catering enquiry record holds the requirements, proposal link, last conversation and follow-up owner, giving the next team member enough context to continue.

Illustrative example.

Your next step

Choose one operating record and agree which fields must be updated after each customer conversation.
