Structured data
Structured data is a machine-readable description of information on a page. Schema.org provides types such as DefinedTerm for a glossary entry, and JSON-LD is one way to express them. The markup should agree with what visitors can read. It does not replace useful content or guarantee enhanced search results or AI recommendations.
Why it matters for your business
Consistent markup helps explain how the business, page and subject relate. A dictionary should describe its real definitions rather than hide extra sales claims or unsupported features in code.
A business example
A definition page uses the same term name and meaning in its visible heading, body and DefinedTerm markup.
