Workflow automation

Workflow automation uses software to carry out defined steps when a particular event occurs. A workflow needs a trigger, conditions, actions and a way to handle failures. It may use fixed rules, AI or both. Automating a step does not remove the need to decide who owns the result or who reviews exceptions.

Why it matters for your business

Automation is most useful where a repeatable task is already understood. Connecting tools before agreeing the process can simply move incomplete information between systems faster.

A business example

An approved enquiry creates a follow-up task for a named person. If the receiving tool rejects it, the failure is recorded and someone is alerted.

Illustrative example.

Your next step

Map the manual process first and automate one stable handover with a visible failure route.
